Prevention is Better than Cure.

"Prevention is Better than Cure" it was attributed by the Dutch philosopher Desiderius Erasmus, is a well-known proverb, which completely suits in our everyday life. This is the safe way to remain away from problems. Following it in our life, we can get prevented from illness. When we know there are so many which can affect us in our everyday life, it is always not necessary to give all the burden on the heads of our immunity system, and later when we get affected, we will play the blame game, rather we can follow certain small disciplines which will certainly save us from various illnesses. Some of the diseases have so much expensive treatment, suffering from such diseases are cured by using hard medicines having lots of side effects in present or in upcoming future. So, beforehand only we can take up certain preventive steps which can keep us safe from deadly diseases.




This is the reason why newborn babies are given certain necessary vaccines, to prevent them from getting affected to various diseases. Here, vaccines do play a very important role. Hence, the introduction of COVID-19 vaccine was a major step towards reducing the spread of the pandemic and further reducing the associated diseases.


Basic Preventive measures in our daily lives include: -

1) Wearing clean clothes

2) Drinking clean water

3) Washing hands with soap before taking food

4) Taking daily bath

5) Having proper sleep during night


Hence, if people understand its value and follow the steps before getting into any complication, it will be worth it. Not only do certain habits but also certain medicinal plants and natural remedies can play an important role of preventing various kind of diseases.

For example, during season change, our body is forced to re-adapt itself, thus making it very much susceptible to viruses & infections, this variation in temperature provides a suitable condition for different groups of viruses and bacteria to grow and get spread.



The most common virus which causes common cold is HRV virus (Human Rhinovirus) that they mainly flourish in spring and winter.

One can suffer from common cold and flu most during the seasonal changes, hence you can have these as a suggestion as preventive measures for flu: -

1) Have hard-boiled egg every day.

2) Have garlic with a spoonful of honey/ 5 leaves of Tulsi, a pinch of pepper powder and 1 tablespoon honey (on alternative days) & along with that drink lukewarm water every day in the morning empty stomach.

3) Take 2 cups of water, add elachi , 4 cinnamon, 4 cardamom, 1 inch ginger crushed, 2 bay leaves, 1 teaspoon pepper powder, boil it for 15 minutes. [ Add 1 pinch of Turmeric powder while drinking the water for better result bet its optional]. Drink 2 times a day, have it like tea by sipping. This is must for all every day.

4) Have Chawanprash 1 tablespoon 2 times a day. It contains camphor. In research it has been found that camphor is the best preventive ingredient for flu virus. 

5) Have 2 lemon every day in 1 glass of normal water adding a pinch of salt.

6) 3 musambis(sweet lemon) juice.

7) Increase intake of protein rich foods.

8) Have proper sleep.

Therefore, by appropriately apprehending the principles of prevention we can learn how to save ourselves from various fatal diseases. People who already had suffered difficulties in life, well understand the value of prevention.
